Website Updates
About Website Updates
Your website must be updated. Minimally, the code has to be adjusted, the software upgraded, security patches installed. How often this happens is usually left up to the webmaster. Of course, you can request a specific schedule if you prefer. Content updates, however, are up to you, but, again, will be handled on a first in, first up basis unless a schedule is previously agreed upon.
Content Updates
The more often you update your content, the better your website will perform for you.
The Annual Update, Semi-Annual, and Quarterly Updates
All websites need, at minimum, a yearly update, but semi-annual, quarterly, and monthly updates are better for websites whose market is sensitive to seasonal changes. The cost of any update is based on the amount of time it takes to implement the changes to your website's theme, code, and content.
The Monthly, Semi-monthly, and Weekly Website Update
Monthly and semi-monthly updates are best for magazine style websites that present content-rich articles to an audience who is notified via newsletter that new articles are available.
Daily and Hourly Updates
If you want your website to maintain a peak presence and encourage visitor loyalty, the best way is to update your content on a daily basis. Of course, the more often you update, the stickier your website becomes to your visitor. Get your audience interested and coming back by providing stimulating content, updated on an ongoing basis.

(The difference between a website updates, website maintenance, and website upgrades: updates refresh content; upgrades modernize the design, the code, and/or programming software that delivers the content; maintenance patches, updates, and/or upgrades the software, but may not necessarily modernize it.)
