Website Projects I Do Not Accept

I will not accept any website project which I consider way too large for our small team. This is to protect both your interests and mine.

I will not accept any website project I consider to represent unethical, immoral, illegal, or socially/politically corrupt content, perspectives, services, or products.

Specifically:

  • MLM, pyramid schemes, scams, or projects which depend in part on sending unsolicited email or SPAM.
  • Any project promoting/condoning hate, cruelty, or violence.
  • Adult/prurient content websites.
  • Websites which include content in violation of copyright laws.
  • Websites which promote any illegal activity, illegal service, illegal content, or illegal product.

It comes down to this: If I don't like your attitude or your content, I'm not going to help you, because every web presence requires my own personal investment in its goals and purpose. My clients aren't folks who just pay me to do a job; they are folks who depend on me and my team's experience and expertise to help them achieve their dreams. Because that's what I do: Help make dreams come true. And I'm good at it.

Websites I Won't Touch, the Long Version

If you lack moral and ethical integrity, and/or if your only purpose is to create a website to line your pockets at your customer's expense, I won't touch your project. (One of my clients has a daughter. She would find the hottest craze going, run down to Wal-Mart, buy up all they had, then turn around and sell them for double her money on eBay. Suddenly she wanted a website, waving money under my nose. ...Nope. What she was doing was, at the very least, unethical, though I know many folks practice just this sort of scam. Well, I won't help them.)

Websites whose "customers" are children, "tweens" and/or teens. (Too many legal hassles.) If your website's target customer or client is the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) of children, the parent(s) responsible for any permissions or purchases, those are fine.

Gaming and/or gambling sites. (Too many kids access gaming sites without parental consent, a legal problem; gambling sites are, likewise, fraught with legal hassles in the U.S. You need an offshore web team.)

Pop, Rap, Hip-Hop or Rock musicians' websites. ...Well, mostly not, anyway, though there are some pleasant exceptions. Classical musicians and composers are fine. Country, well, it depends. Why not "popular genre" musicians? Because many of these artists are just too petulant and unprofessional; they tend to be hot and cold, on and off, thrilled, then angry...for no discernible reason. If you REALLY think you're a good fit with my service, however, don't be afraid to contact me, and we'll talk about your project and your hopes and dreams.

"Martial Arts" websites—NO...except for real martial arts schools and martial artists, like ChoiTKD, Chicago. Martial arts is not a sport; it's not pugilism; it's not about aggression, self-aggrandizement and ego, or about competition. It's about self-integrity, self-control, and self-defense--real self-defense (including, yes, using lethal force). If your focus embraces anything other than what constitutes real martial arts, go elsewhere. I won't associate my name with anything that doesn't represent what I know from long study to be a true martial "way," which means attitude, philosophy, world view, life way, as well as physical, practical, expertise and pragmatic exercise.

"Entrepreneurial" (« heavy on the sarcasm) websites: Not. No. Never. I don't help scammers, MLM's, spammers, sleaze balls, or anyone else just out to drive a buck to their door at the expense of their victims.

NO: Vendetta websites.

NO: Alarmist websites or websites designed to agitate or incite the public.

NEVER: Websites which promote hate, cruelty, bigotry, fighting, war, hunting, porn, pedophilia, or anything else despicable or depraved.

NOT: Websites for whiners, cry-babies, bad boys, bad girls, arguments....

I think you get the picture. Moral and ethical integrity is a must.
